A dozen trees and hundreds of plants have finally arrived as part of the East 86th Street Streetscape plan that the East 86th Street Association has worked long and hard for!
Our East 86th Street Volunteer Clean Team grew from three to ten volunteers in just our second week!
Construction is in final phase! Trees, plants, shrubs, and tree guards will cap the project in November.
We are pleased to announce that District 5 Council Member Ben Kallos has secured funding to transition all 5th District corner trash receptacles from the old wire baskets to the new, larger cans housed in green metal cases. The new cans with domed top and smaller opening increases capacity, prevents spillage and deters rats.
